For those of you who don't know what Foodfest is...BYU-Hawaii has one every sememster. All the different student clubs (Korean Club, Samoan Clu, etc) make ethinic foods to sell and raise money. There is always entertainment and fun things for the kids and YUMMY FOOD. After walking around, we decided on the Tongan Clubs offerings...Palusami (Corned beef, coconut milk and taro leaves) and other ethinc foods. In this picture, Jackie is eating some Tongan "breadfruit"...can't remember the name but he LOVED it! I was so proud that both the kids enjoyed the Tongan Food.
One of the clubs did Halloween cupcakes and had a guy dressed up as a huge cupcake walking around trying to sell them. Well of course as they passed our table I had to get one for each of my "cupcakes" :)
I don't remember having rides at the Foodfest of my youth...but Savannah and Jackie LOVED this one. It was Jackies FIRST TIME on a ride like this. He didn't want to go at first but when he saw his "Sissy" get buckled in, he changed his mind and ran over and climbed up. He LOVED IT...they went on three times and would have gone a dozen but our scripts conveniently ran out :P
Both the kids had a great time and it was nice to finally be able to share this expreience with Savannah. I told Lee all about it the next day and he can't wait to come home and take her to a Foodfest too...there will be two a year for the next 20 years...so we will have many more opportunities to re-live my childhood and make new memories for Savannah.
